It’s back to school time. Let’s help 10 kids start the school year off with the confidence that they deserve.

For me back to school season meant savoring cute new pencils and fresh clean folders. But for many families this is a season filled with angst worry and self doubt.

We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!

$0 towards $1,500

I'm fundraising to help fill backpacks!

Let’s be honest. Lately it’s been hard for me to feel as though I can do much to effect change in the world in which we live. Both of my late moms devoted a large chapter of their careers to teaching. They didn’t always like it. They probably never came home from work feeling like heroes. But they showed up. Every single day. My moms cared tremendously about our youth. This school year I’m joining forces with one of my most beloved organizations in a back to school fundraising project that will lift your spirits and make a difference…today. Together we will effect real change in real time. Together we can infuse some good in the world and make a small but meaningful difference in a student’s life. My fundraising goal of $1,500 will provide TEN kids with backpacks filled with the essentials they need to help them engage in the classroom and feel excited about learning. When schools, families, and community groups work together to support learning, students tend to do better, stay in school longer, and like school more.

Just a small donation will go a long way in helping me meet my goal for Communities In Schools of Los Angeles (CISLA). Do it if a teacher ever made you feel good about yourself. Do it if Andrea or Marion did something kind for you. Do it because it’s simply the right thing to do. I’m willing to do anything I can to feel better about the world in which we live. Let’s help a few kids feel more confident in their classrooms this school year.

Thank you for helping me do right.
